Is Self-publishing for You?
If you’re considering self-publishing as an option to take your book to market, here are four reasons why it’s a good idea:
-
If you work with a traditional publisher, odds are they will own the rights to your book. As such, you cannot print additional copies of your book unless you buy back those rights.
-
Self-publishing means all decisions are yours exclusively and based on your best interests.
-
It’s great to have a large publisher finance your book project, but it’s not so great when all you see are paltry royalties. When you self-publish, your margins are considerably higher. Plus, if you’re a success, you’ll have publishers calling you and your negotiation power will be greater.
In traditional publishing, production cycles are long, sometimes taking several months. Digital printing and case binding service providers, like GSB|Inc., can produce casewrap hardcover books in one day.
